YOUNG PROFESSIONALS DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP (FIRST COHORT)
This document outlines the proposed plan for organizing the first cohort of the Young Professionals Development Workshop under the Limpopo Youth Skills Development Program (LYSDP), a partnership between the London Institute of Skills Development (LISD) and the Enock Mathebula Foundation (EMF).
PROGRAM CONTEXT
The Young Professionals Development Workshop forms part of the Limpopo Youth Skills Development Program (LYSDP), which focuses on empowering South African youth, particularly unemployed youth in Limpopo Province, with practical, market-relevant skills. The program aligns with Youth Month in June, a period dedicated to youth development, empowerment, and addressing socio-economic challenges such as unemployment and skills shortages.
WORKSHOP TOPICS
The first cohort workshop will focus on the following thematic areas:
- Digital Literacy and Workplace Readiness Entrepreneurship and
- Innovation for Youth
OBJECTIVES AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
The key objectives of the workshop are to:
- Equip unemployed youth (18–35) with practical digital and professional skills
- Improve employability through workplace readiness and communication skills
- Introduce entrepreneurship as an alternative pathway to economic participation
- Build confidence, professionalism, and career direction among young people
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate basic digital and professional workplace competencies
- Develop a professional CV
- Understand foundational entrepreneurship

The timing of this workshop during Youth Month is intentional, responding to the high rate of youth unemployment and the urgent need for skills development. This initiative will serve as a significant intervention aimed at empowering young people with tools for employment and entrepreneurship.
