Previous Academic Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (at least a 3-year programme or equivalent to 180 ECTS).
- Transcript of Records with a final grade of at least “Satisfactory” (Minimum grade point average equivalent of 3.0 according to the German grading system).
- At least 2 years of full-time professional and relevant experience after your Bachelor´s graduation (internships do not qualify).
English Language Skills
Since all of our study programmes are offered in English, certification of your language skills is required (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, PTE or Cambridge).

MBA Admission Requirements
Academic Criteria:
- Completed degree from a public or officially recognized university/higher education institution.
- At least a “satisfactory” or Grade C equivalent earned in your previous education.
- Your undergraduate studies must amount to 180 ECTS for a 90-ECTS MBA.
- For our One-Year MBA (60-ECTS), your previous degree must amount to 210 ECTS.
English Skills
At IU, we teach in English to prepare you for the international market.
We, therefore, ask for proof of your English language skills*. If English is your native language or you graduated from an English-speaking school/university, you don’t need to prove your English skills.
Accepted certifications:
- TOEFL (min. 80 points) or
- IELTS (min. Level 6) or
- Duolingo English test (min. 95 points) or
- Cambridge Certificate (min. B grade overall) or
- Equivalent proof
*Proof must be provided before the start of the study and must not be older than two years.
Work Experience
You will need to have at least one year of professional work experience before starting this programme (achieved after previous studies).
For MBA programmes, you will also need to have completed the second year of professional work experience before graduating.

Business Development Manager
As a Business Development Manager you need to have a feel for change and trends. You analyze developments and markets and develop new products and business ideas on this basis. In addition, you bring sound knowledge in the areas of finance, economics, and law to the right place.

As a Consultant, you consult various businesses. These consultations could be on general management of the business or how to go through a process of change. You adapt your basic consultation concept to the individual needs and assignments of your client while meeting your own, or your employer’s targets.
Senior Brand Manager
As a Brand Manager, your job is to strategically develop, position, and coordinate a company’s brand or image with the goal of making it highly recognizable and differentiating it from other companies. As part of this, your responsibilities include cross-product strategy planning using effective external communication. As a Brand Manager, you also design innovative, cross-channel media campaigns that are implemented, analyzed, and optimized nationally and internationally.
